Saturday, April 22 – HLAA-LA Marches for Science (Note: There will be no Chapter Meeting!)

Hi folks! We will NOT be having an April chapter meeting at our normal meeting location. Instead of a chapter meeting, we will head to Pershing Square (Hill & 6th Streets) in downtown LA to take part in the MARCH FOR SCIENCE!

As an update, we have a meeting place set up at the Crowell Public Library in San Marino. Please see below for location information.

Why are we marching? Because we feel this will be a GREAT opportunity to create visibility about hearing loss, publicize our cause, show our support for government-supported research for hearing loss, and show our pride in how we use technology to improve our lives. Note: this is NOT a march against anything; all political points of view are welcome!

What You Need to Know

When
Saturday, Aprill 22nd
Where
Crowell Public Library, 1890 Huntington Dr., San Marino, CA 91108 – there is plenty of parking at the library. We are meeting in their outdoor courtyard.
Note Regarding the Library
Upon considering the library to meet for the March, we discovered it had a looped room! So now we are strongly considering this library as a new meeting place for our monthly meetings. Pat worked tirelessly to find the hospital, and her efforts are so appreciated! What went unanticipated was the ease of access and the cost for parking. We will keep you all posted, but if you do come to the library for the March, you can peek at the room and give us your feedback. Please note the loop will not be working at this time but still important to check out the room!
Meeting Time
8:30am for sign making, food, coffee, and general merriment.

At 9:45am we will be taking the bus downtown to Pershing Square / City Hall (Grand & 5th). The bus leaves from the library at 9:45am sharp, arriving at 10:28am. The March begins at 11:00am. We will provide some chairs for those who want to watch from the sidelines.

The idea of the March was put forth by our inspiring new president, Heather Lehr. This will be a GREAT opportunity to create visibility about hearing loss, publicize our cause, show our support for government-supported research for hearing loss, and show our pride in how we use technology to improve our lives. Note: this is NOT a march against anything; all political points of view are welcome! Heather will be there in spirit, so let’s make her proud and march on!
