First Meeting of 2015!

It’s been a long time since we got together, we sure hope to see a lot of you on the 24th.

We are starting the new year with a bang. The first part of the meeting will be a presentation about looping by Kase Martis  on behalf of the Loop LA campaign.  Loop LA’s mission is to obtain equal access for individuals with hearing loss by promoting the usage of hearing loop technology.  The California Communications Access Foundation funded a similar movement (Loop Santa Barbara) which resulted in over 40 new hearing loops in the region:

The second part of our meeting will be a rap session and discussion of both personal and group goals. Come ready to share your hopes and challenges, we are here to support you. Also please bring any ideas you have for where you would like our group to go. Remember: this group is about and for all of us. We’d love to hear from everyone!

Please come ready to learn, ask, chat and of course TO EAT! Please bring something to have and to share. There will be a kitty jar for donations, but it’s always more fun to taste the treats folks bring in. We start with food and socializing at 9:30. The meeting starts promptly at 10am and lasts until noon, and we have a break in the middle.

Some reminders:

  • Please consider inviting someone new to the meeting OR reaching out to an existing member who has been away for a while. Also, remember that your loved ones are always welcome.
  • We appreciate your help in keeping the Hear Center in pristine condition. We are welcome in the kitchen area, conference room and bathrooms. The rest of the building needs to be kept clear. All help setting up in the morning and/or cleaning up after the meeting will be greatly appreciated.

As always, we meet at the Hear Center, 301 E. Del Mar Blvd. Pasadena, CA 91101. Please use the side door.

If you have any questions, just post here. I will post another more reminders closer to the date. Have a great week!

Best, Alicia VP
