Thank you Debra for the great presentation to learn more about Hamilton Relay and California Phones!
We had a great meeting today, hosted by Hamilton Relay and California Phones. I’m attaching the meeting transcripts, thanks to our speedy captionist Melodie. A big thank you to Debra Rogers from Hamilton Relay, who did most of the planning for the meeting, gave a great presentation, AND brought us coffee and food!
We haven’t had a rap session for awhile, so thought it would be a good time to get back to what we do best – offer mutual support, understanding and compassion.
Hello everyone,
Many thanks to Lisa and Tim for putting together a great Power Point presentation that we used on Saturday to give what we called “The State of the Chapter Report”. We will post the Power Point soon so you can see what you missed it you weren’t there on Saturday. We’ll also post the transcript as soon as it’s available.
Hi Everyone,
Our next HLAA-LA Chapter meeting is right around the corner on Saturday, April 23rd from 10:00-12:00 pm. Same place and same time.
We are going to host a CA Phones Town Hall Meeting. Per their website, “Thanks to California Phones, from the California Telephone Access Program, it’s easier for everyone to stay connected. We offer free specialized phones that make it easier to hear, dial and call. Over half a million Californians are already enjoying California Phones.”

Hi Everyone,
Below is the March 2016 Newsletter.
We are having a very important meeting this Saturday and hope many of you will join us. We’ll be looking at the state of our chapter… where we’ve been, where we’re at, and where we’re headed. We can’t do this without your input! This is YOUR chapter, so please bring your thoughts, suggestions and ideas to this lively, open discussion.
As always, there will be coffee and plenty of refreshments, and the meeting will be captioned and looped.
It was great seeing so many of you at the meeting on Saturday We had a standing room only crowd which was great!!!
I want to thank Dana Sunderland again for facilitating the “Mixed Couples” discussion. Our panel of couples, Tim & Bianca, Alex & Doug, and Lisa Beth & Joe were great and I think we all benefited from the insightful discussion. Thank you all. We will be posting the meeting transcript later today.
Hi everyone,
Attached are the transcripts provided by the captionist from last Saturday’s chapter meeting. As Pat said, we had a great meeting with a FULL HOUSE! Thanks again to Dana Sunderland for moderating our panel discussion and our couples who participated and shared their stories with us: Tim and Blanca, Doug and Alex, and Joe and Lisa Beth.

Hope to see many of you at this Saturday’s meeting! We’ll hear from a panel of “mixed couples” (one partner with hearing loss and one partner with normal hearing), who will discuss how hearing loss can affect their relationships. We welcome you to invite your friends, family members and significant others. It should be an informative, engaging and entertaining discussion, moderated by our own Dana Sunderland!
See you Saturday!
