Walk4Hearing – It Was A Blast!

The Los Angeles Chapter LA Stars team was well represented at the annual Walk4Hearing fundraiser in Long Beach. A big heartfelt thanks to all of you who contributed, by fundraising, volunteering today, and/or donating.
As a chapter, we have several reasons to be very proud of ourselves:

1. The top 4 individual fundraisers were all HLAA-Los Angeles members:

Gary Jacobson ($5,425), Grace Tiessen ($3,022), Liz Lesan ($2,688), and Wendi Washington ($2,615). Amazing job!!

2. Our chapter team, the LA Stars, was the TOP fundraising team of all the teams who participated. As of today, the LA Stars has raised $5,772, surpassing our $5,000 goal. Wendi Washington was the top fundraiser on the team, but there were several members who each raised over $500: Tim Browning, Katherine Burns, and Jennifer Nelson and Lisa Yuan. Thank you ALL, no matter what amount you raised – every cent helped us reach our goal! We were awarded with a couple gift cards for being the #1 team: one from Dunkin’ Donuts and one from Chipotle. We’ll use them for an upcoming meeting or event.

3. Many of you showed up early today to volunteer. I know it isn’t easy to get up early on a Saturday morning, drive all the way down to Long Beach, and get to work. But there you all were, with your smiling faces, ready to help out. Thank you so much.

The chapter gets 40% of all the funds from members who raised money on behalf HLAA-Los Angeles. So again, HUGE THANKS to the LA Stars, and to Gary Jacobson!  This will likely be our only fundraiser this year, and we really made it count!
