Our Saturday Meeting
Hello everyone,
Many thanks to Lisa and Tim for putting together a great Power Point presentation that we used on Saturday to give what we called “The State of the Chapter Report”. We will post the Power Point soon so you can see what you missed it you weren’t there on Saturday. We’ll also post the transcript as soon as it’s available.

One of the highlights of the meeting was the sharing of the launch of our new website. If you haven’t had a chance to take a look, please do as soon as possible. This was a labor of love for those of us who spent the better part of a year bringing this to life. Ken Cluskey, Lisa Yuan and I contributed our visions and Tim Browning did a wonderful job building the actual website. Not only will our website be a great way for the chapter members to get informed about the latest meetings and events, it will be a GREAT Outreach tool. People will learn more about living effectively with hearing loss and get to know us. We welcome your feedback – whether you’ve got ideas for future articles or you’ve discovered a bug that needs to be addressed. You can let us know by using the Contact Us form on the website. Let us know what you think!
One of the many things we will be talking about over the next months is the Chapter’s vision for the future. What programs and projects are you interested in? How can YOU be more involved in the decision making? What can we do easier and more efficiently? If you’d like to be a part of the planning, let us know. We want to hear from YOU, it’s YOUR chapter!
Don’t forget the upcoming 11th annual HLAA-LA Garage Sale on April 16th at Joe and Lisa Beth’s home in Altadena. We’ll post of the specifics again real soon. We need your donations and help at the sale itself. If you are super organized and have neat and clear closets and garages, feel free to support the effort with a cash or check. The funds raised at this event basically pay for the much appreciated captioning of our meetings. I hope to see a lot of you there on Saturday April 16th. It’s a busy and fun day!………..donuts in the morning and pizza at lunch for everybody who comes and helps out……….and as Lisa pointed out, a great opportunity to shop for bargains for yourself!
Thank you all for participating in the meeting on Saturday. It was good to hear from so many of you. If you didn’t get a chance to share your ideas, Contact Us!.
