Innocaption Presents in our First In-person Meeting in Six Years!

After six years of meeting online, we’re thrilled to announce that our chapter meetings are finally returning in person at the HEAR Center in Pasadena, starting Saturday, March 28!

The HEAR Center was a longtime meeting location for our HLAA Los Angeles Chapter, so we are excited to return there. Come and greet your fellow members and the new Steering Committee!

10 a.m. – Noon PT

Details:

  • Doors open at 9:30 am — come early for food, drinks, and time to reconnect.
  • Innocaption presentation and chapter news will be from roughly 10 – noon (flexible ending time)
  • Plenty of parking and NO steps (mobility-accessible)
  • A hearing loop will be set up for telecoil-enabled hearing devices
  • Our chapter will provide coffee and donuts
  • Please feel free to bring and share any snacks and/or drinks
  • Volunteers will be needed after the meeting to help with clean-up
  • Meeting is planned to be captioned

Note: This meeting will NOT be a hybrid meeting with a simultaneous Zoom broadcast. We are focused on resuming our in-person meetings first, but intend to offer hybrid in the future.

This month, we’re diving into call captioning as a powerful communication access tool for people who have hearing loss. InnoCaption’s Matt Goncalves, Senior Marketing Director, will walk us through how captioned telephone services support everyday communication—from calling healthcare providers and the VA to staying connected with employers, friends and family.

And since we’re meeting in person, this will also be a hands-on opportunity where you can try InnoCaption yourself—completely free to use.
