We have a special second meeting planned, starting at 12:30 pm following our regular chapter meeting on Saturday, July 23.
We’re thrilled to have the Coordinator for Disability Services at L.A. International Airport, Larry Rolon, join us to discuss accessibility at Los Angeles International Airport. Larry would like our input on ways to make LAX more accessible to people with hearing loss. This is a great opportunity to make our voices heard!
Here’s a great article shared by Diane Gross about air travel and accessibility to travelers with hearing loss. We still are far from equal access to services, but changes are slowly happening. We can help instigate change quicker by advocating for ourselves. Click here to read the full article, published by Healthy Hearing.
The HLAA Walk4Hearing began in 2006 with just 6 walks and a dream of raising awareness for the hearing loss community. Ten years later, 22 walks around the country have made HLAA’s Walk4Hearing one of the largest fundraising events for people with hearing loss. Besides funds, the walks bring much-needed visibility to an often invisible condition. Please join other Southern Californians as we walk for the common goal of raising funds and awareness to the hearing loss community.
Thanks to Joe and Lisa Beth Snyder, our April 16th garage sale was a great success, netting over $1,000! They went above and beyond the call of duty, and we cannot thank them enough.
Rap Session – Connecting with New and Old Members
We haven’t had a rap session for awhile, so thought it would be a good time to get back to what we do best – offer mutual support, understanding and compassion.

All are invited to the HEAR Center’s 2nd Annual Theater Night on March 19. The Pasadena Playhouse has been newly looped, and patrons have said that the sound quality is great. Please see this flyer for more information. This is a great way to support the Pasadena Playhouse, looped theater, and the HEAR Center.
The play is a fun musical called Casa Valentina. Dinner, parking, play ticket, along with a private room in the beautiful Pasadena Playhouse just for our group during Intermission, are included for $130 per person.
